Holiday season in Israel, and belly dancing finishes with a party. All the belly dancing ladies arrive at our apartment, a hefty audio set is installed, and soon the walls reverberate with tarbuka beats.

Cool down at the balcony. Everyone brought snacks and drinks, turning the evening into a terrific Ladies Night.

Hadas closes the party with a smashing performance.

The big living room still looks a bit empty, but Sonja found some colorfull focal points with these horses.

Henk treats himself a new BBQ, because the balcony is too windy for the old one. This new round mangal looks very professional, with wheels, valves and cover, for only 12 euro!!

Sonja complains about the water pressure, and promptly a plumber is invited to fix the pumps. It would have been nice to have had a warning...... but no, the washing machine is running while this water emerges from the tap....

Sonja invites Eef, Rivka and Nathan to visit King's City, the new theme park of Eilat. Nathan loses himself, except his head, in all the games and physics tricks.

a machine to create smoke signals....

...and a boat ride along medieval and biblical displays, finished with a mega-splash.

Henk's feet are sore this summer: the cracks spontaneous burst into bloody foot prints. Pedicure Miri performs a little miracle: with a sharp knife and lots a patience the feet are restored to good-as-new!

And another party: this time for all Dutch speakers who stayed behind in Eilat this summer. Sonja concocts a cold minestrone soup, but due to the climate, it won't get cold. Henk adds some unusual ingredients.....

Yuval, Ruth and Sam have positioned them self near the table with goodies. Like before, everyone brought food and drink. There are lots of snacks, real Brownies, quiche and a beautiful apple pie.

time for some serious chatting....

Meanwhile, we take driving lessons with Dudu: owning an Israeli car requires you to have an Israeli driving licence. After 25 years of driving all over Europe, we get somewhat embarrassed when the instructor keeps calling "slow, slow" at each corner that we approach at snail pace. But these lessons are worthwhile, as there are some minor differences in the traffic rules. The test is next to nothing: after only 10 minutes of driving, we have both passed the test and now have our official licence.
