Vicky and Mario beating their hands red hot during their very first performance, at Queensday in front of the town hall. All the better, as the weather is terribly cold. Nonetheless, the big group of base- and other drums beat up a swinging rithme.

Just 5 days later, the weather is wonderfully warm, and we organize a little BBQ at the balcony. We dig up our original Israeli mangal that we bought in Arad for 6 euro, on our way back to Europe, but the Israeli coals think nothing of these temperatures, and burn terribly. Cooking takes a lot of time, but tastes just great.

It's spring in Holland, it's Tulip-time!

and look at these roses in our back yard? For years they wilted, but now the big tree has gone, the additional sunlight does miracles.

We visit Angelique and Marcel, in Zeeland. Angelique has been infected with the side-saddle virus, just like Sonja, and they used to ride together at the Roosberg riding school.

And friends from Eilat come to visit us in Dordrecht, to explore the city. We make a long hike through the center of the town, and make a trip with an "whisper" boat through the canals, the river and marinas. Sonja, Anneke and Danielle enjoy the lovely weather...

while Janiv, Benson and Henk are on the opposite side of the boat, facing Ha Rosh Kadol, the famous Groothoofd building.

We finish the day with a big bag of chips. The mayonaise gets all the way up to your armpits, what a wonderful Dutch tradition!!

Aunty Riet comes to visit the cemetary....

...and shortly after that, Sonja manages to find a suitable candle holder, that Henk's mother has been trying to find for a long time.

Back in Eilat, it is time for home improvement. The shower cabin in the master bathroom is broken, the doors won't close and we cannot use it. After asking the caretaker 5 times to repair it, without any result, we hire a plumber to build us a new cabin to our specifications (and size).

The plumber promises to make no dust, puts his grinding disk on the tiles, and within seconds the view across the bedroom is completely blocked. Two days of work, and another two days of cleaning, and the new shower cabin is ready. Sparkle..Sparkle...

The other mega-job is a sun shade for the main balcony. The sunlight through the serre is so much that the airco can hardly manage. The owner promised to make us a pergola before the contract was signed, but became utterly forgetful when he heard the price after the contract was signed. Oh well, this is Israel, we are getting used to it. A friend advises a friend, who comes with another friend to weld our pergola together.

We choose a steel frame with shade netting, that can easily be removed in the winter, when every bit of sun is welcome.

The friend of the friend doesn't show up the second day, and so Henk helps to steer the construction into the right direction. Henk is lucky to have no vertigo, but Roger was scared shitless at times.

The pergola is finished just in time for the full moon. We enjoy it immensely.

Two panorama photos of the view. The picture makes a 180 degrees circle, from north through east to south.

...and the same at sundown.
